Ok, the VW is sweet, and agree with you that it looks great lowered. Also, the M3 is heaven.

280SE, these pop up now and then.

It gets weirder, as you could also get 6cyl W126 and W140 with a manual.

Nice- my dad had a W116 280SE way back, but it didn’t have plaid or 3 pedals. Being in the US, I’ve never seen any of them with a stick. Presume that wasn’t offered here—

Yep, no manual of any of those sold here. The US didn’t get cloth either - it was mostly leather, Tex could be had in diesels or maybe 280S/SE as a base car, and I am sure the woolcloth velour was possible with a special order.

A few of these grey market 5-speed ones seem to have found their way to Murka in the early 80s. I have seen one here in WA, not just 5-speed with plaid, it was red.
